Film roll handling manipulator (also known as roll hoists or flipping robots) are automated handling equipment specifically designed for industries such as printing, packaging, film production, and new energy batteries (separators).
Because large-size parent rolls are typically very heavy (50kg to over 1000kg), and have a smooth shape and unstable center of gravity, manual handling can easily lead to back injuries or material damage.
Why Use a Film Rolling Manipulator?
Preventing “Telescoping”: If the film roll is handled unevenly, the internal layers can slip out like a telescope. A specialized robot grips the roll via a central axis, effectively locking the paper core and preventing this.
Protecting Material Edges: The edges of the film roll are extremely fragile; a single bump can render the entire roll unusable. The robot can place the roll smoothly and at a constant speed.
Single-Person Operation: Heavy rolls that previously required two to three people to lift can now be easily handled by a single female or male worker, significantly reducing labor costs.
Ergonomic Design: Completely eliminates the risk of lower back injuries (a leading cause of occupational diseases in the logistics industry).
Typical Application Industries:
Flexible Packaging Printing: Loading of composite films and aluminum foil rolls.
Label Printing: Handling of self-adhesive rolls and sheets.
Lithium Battery Production: High-frequency loading and unloading of electrode rolls and separator rolls.
Paper and Nonwoven Fabrics: Slitting and matching of large rolls of paper or sanitary materials.
