Steel strip coil handling manipulator

The electromagnet adsorption manipulator is an automated device that combines an industrial robot with an electromagnet as an end effector (grasping tool) to efficiently and safely handle and manipulate workpieces of ferromagnetic materials (such as steel, nickel, cobalt and their alloys).

The working principle of the electromagnet adsorption robot is based on electromagnetic induction:
Electromagnet adsorption: When current passes through the electromagnet coil, the coil generates a magnetic field, making the electromagnet magnetic. When the electromagnet approaches the ferromagnetic workpiece, it will induce a magnetic pole in the workpiece and generate a strong suction force, thereby firmly adsorbing the workpiece.
Power-off release: When the power supply of the electromagnet is cut off, the magnetic field disappears quickly, the electromagnet loses its magnetism, the suction force is released, and the workpiece is released.
Robot movement: The robot body is responsible for accurately controlling the position, posture and movement trajectory of the electromagnet to move the workpiece from one position to another.

Electromagnet adsorption robots are widely used in the following fields:
Automobile manufacturing: handling, loading and unloading, stacking of stamping parts (doors, hoods, etc.), and assembly of body parts.
Metal processing industry: loading and unloading of laser cutting machines, CNC punching machines, bending machines, etc., and handling of steel plates and profiles.
Home appliance manufacturing: handling and assembly of large sheet metal parts such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.
Warehousing logistics: stacking, destacking, and transferring of metal plates, profiles, or metal products in automated warehouses.
Metallurgical industry: handling of steel billets and steel plates (usually requires a special magnetic crane with higher strength).
Scrap recycling: sorting and handling of scrap metal (large magnetic crane).
